Scottish Curry King goes ‘X'tra Spicy on the CHRIS MOYLES Breakfast Show

Perth based chef and business owner Praveen Kumar was super Xcited last week when his authentic hand cooked curries were featured on the Chris Moyles Breakfast Show on Radio X.

Show producer James Robinson was heading off to India on his holidays and not being a lover of spicy food, the team wanted to get him accustomed to some authentic Indian food before his trip by upping his spice tolerance each day last week with a different curry tasting every morning - getting spicier as the week went on with their usual team antics!

When the London based Global Radio company searched online for someone to supply their curries - Praveen Kumar was top of the charts for Authentic Indian meals - all hand cooked in small batches from the Perth based production kitchen by their award winning restaurant chefs.

Praveen uses fresh local ingredients and spices from his own family spice farm in India to give a premium and authentic taste of India. Meals are blast frozen to lock in the flavour and goodness without the need for any additives, colourings or preservatives - just good quality authentic Indian meals.

Praveen had a selection of dishes sent to the studios ready for James to try! Starting with butter chicken on day 1, James was delighted with this mild dish but Chris and the team certainly upped their game with a spicy lamb daal Maas on day 2 and while James said he like the taste - there was certainly some mouth cooling blows, hilarity and glasses of milk in the studio on the spicy days!

Fridays show saw an additional surprise as Praveen travelled to the Global Studios in Leicester Square, London to surprise James with his final curry - an extra hot chicken rogan josh! Praveen joined the team for their early morning curry feature and also surprised James with the offer of a private tour of Jodhpur while he is on his travels!

After a chart topping week at Praveen Kumar HQ following the amazing coverage every morning on the show, which has over 1.2million listeners Praveen says..  "We are so grateful to Global and Radio X for this wonderful opportunity, All the team at Radio X, for trusting us with James' curry Week, we are truly honoured. I am looking forward to hearing great stories about James' trip to India and sending the guys some more curries very soon!"

Back at Praveen kumar HQ, new spice challenge boxes were flying out the door all week with listeners heading to the website to sample the same dishes and see if they too could handle the spicy dishes that James had tried!

The shows can still be heard on catch up for a limited time on the Global Player website or app and exclusive videos from the shows were shared across social platforms of both Praveen Kumar and Radio X and we are sure Praveen will be catching up with James when he returns from his travels.

Anyone wishing to try the spice challenge themselves or indeed select from some milder dishes as James would prefer, can head to www.praveenkumar.com where they can have the same Praveen Kumar authentic Indian meals delivered to their home, nation-wide.
