SCC Backing Scotland’s Businesses: A Plan for Growth

The Scottish Chambers of Commerce has launched Backing Scotland’s Businesses: A Plan for Growth, at a pivotal moment for Scotland’s economy.

Businesses across every region are ready to invest, create jobs and drive growth but progress continues to be held back by rising costs, slow infrastructure delivery, workforce shortages and policy uncertainty.

SCC calls on the next Scottish Government to take urgent action to restore competitiveness and unlock long-term investment under five priority areas:

• Restore competitiveness and investment confidence
• Deliver infrastructure that powers growth 
• Secure the future workforce
• Create the conditions for digital leader
• Expand our global reach

SCC’s plan charts a strategic pathway to 2050, with practical actions for the first Programme for Government, measurable progress in year one, and tangible outcomes by the end of the next Parliament.
