Scottish Government Daily Update - Tuesday 8th December 2020

This update from the Scottish Government directs businesses to the most up to date information on COVID-19 as we move forward with our economic response.

The Find Business Support website continues to provide details on the assistance available as well as information and advice on how businesses can restart safely through and out of lockdown.

Today the First Minister gave a statement to Parliament where she confirmed the 11 Level 4 local authority areas will drop down to Level 3 from 6pm Friday 11 December, except retail which can open from 6am, following improvement in the number of new cases in recent weeks.

The First Minister also said Angus, Inverclyde and Falkirk will drop a level going from 3 to 2 and Dumfries and Galloway and Borders Councils will drop down to Level 1, following significant improvements in suppressing the virus in these two areas.

All other areas remain unchanged in their levels. More information is available here.

Guidance for the safe running of organised activities for children and young people has been published.

Universities will stagger the return of undergraduate students to campuses over at least six weeks, within a package of measures to minimise the transmission of COVID-19. Read more here.
