Scottish Government Daily Update Friday 29th January 2021

This update from the Scottish Government directs businesses to the most up to date information on COVID-19 as we move forward with our economic response.

The Find Business Support website continues to provide details on the assistance available as well as information and advice on how businesses can restart safely through and out of lockdown.

The UK has now left the European Union, this update will highlight developments around Brexit that will be of particular interest to businesses.

Due to an increase in prevalence of COVID-19 and an increase in infection rates Na h-Eileanan Siar will move to Level 4 from 00.01 Saturday.

Additional restrictions have been placed on travellers arriving in Scotland from the United Arab Emirates, Rwanda and Burundi. The limited exemptions to isolation will not apply for these countries, and everyone else in the household of arriving passengers must also isolate. In addition, aircraft coming from UAE to Scotland carrying passengers were banned from 1pm.

Final figures on funding made available to businesses affected by the COVID-19 restrictions in place between 9 October to 2 November 2020 by local authority have been published.

Enterprise agencies saw a big uptake in the Wedding Fund when it went live yesterday, all applications are being processed. The fund is open and more information on how to apply can be found on the FindBusinessSupport website.

The Scottish Government’s Strategic Framework is now operational, you can find out exactly which coronavirus lockdown restrictions apply to you by using the Scottish Government's postcode checker.
