This update from the Scottish Government directs businesses to the most up to date information on COVID-19 as we move forward with our economic response.

The Find Business Support website continues to provide details on the assistance available as well as information and advice on how businesses can restart safely through and out of lockdown.

At today’s media briefing the First Minister gave an update on the expansion of testing to residents in a number of communities across the country, even if they do not have symptoms of COVID-19. These programmes are being trialled in several communities in central and west Scotland. Read the First Minister’s full speech here.

Guidance for businesses offering Santa experiences was published today.

As part of the Scottish Government’s support for economic recovery, an additional £11.8 million is being made available to help businesses take advantage of digital technologies to improve their productivity, increase their resilience and create new market opportunities. More information is available here.

Minister for Business, Fair Work and Skills, Jamie Hepburn, today announced some of the projects to receive a share of the £25 million National Transition Training Fund. The Fund, announced in October, will support retraining projects for careers in areas where employment has been affected by the coronavirus pandemic, including aviation, construction and tourism. It will also help with career transition into areas of the Scottish economy with most potential for future growth, such as digital and green technologies. Read more here.

Scottish consumers are being encouraged to ‘Go Local’ as part of a new initiative that will transform local convenience stores into marketplaces selling more local produce. Further information is available here.
