Scottish Government Daily Update Friday 4th December 2020

This update from the Scottish Government directs businesses to the most up to date information on COVID-19 as we move forward with our economic response.

The Find Business Support website continues to provide details on the assistance available as well as information and advice on how businesses can restart safely through and out of lockdown.

At today’s media briefing the Deputy First Minister confirmed there was no changes to the international quarantine list this week.   He said that the Scottish Government would assess the need for any further sectoral exemptions at the next review of the international travel regulations – which is to be completed by 14 December - following changes in England to exempt people working in certain sectors from the requirement to self-isolate.

A consultation on proposals for a manufacturing recovery plan, which aims to secure a strong, sustainable future for the sector, has been launched. The plan has been developed by the Scottish Government, its enterprise and skills agencies, industry partners, trades unions and academics to support the sector over the next 12 months. Take part in the consultation here.

Further support has been announced for childcare sector. Qualifying day nurseries will continue to benefit from 100% relief on non-domestic rates until at least June 2023.
