This update from the Scottish Government directs businesses to the most up to date information on COVID-19 as we move forward with our economic response.

The Find Business Support website continues to provide details on the assistance available as well as information and advice on how businesses can restart safely through and out of lockdown.

As we approach the end of the Brexit transition period we will also be highlighting developments around Brexit that will be of particular interest to businesses.

At today’s media briefing Health Secretary Jeane Freeman gave an update on testing capacity and the opening of two additional walk-through testing centres. One of those opened in Kilmarnock on Wednesday.  And the other opened yesterday in Oban. These two new centres add to the 20 others operating in Scotland and mean the target of having 22 walk-through centres in place for the winter period has been met.

Citizens of the European Union who live in Scotland are being urged to apply to the EU Settlement Scheme. In an open letter and video message,  First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said it is vital that every EU citizen who wishes to stay in Scotland completes an application by 30 June 2021. Figures have been published on the funding that has been made available to businesses affected by the COVID-19 restrictions under the Strategic Framework, from 2 November to 30 November. Read more here.

Guidance on ventilation to support the mixing of individuals safely in indoor domestic and commercial properties has been published.

Monthly GDP estimates for October have been published showing Scotland’s GDP increased by 0.6% in October, the sixth consecutive month of increasing GDP, but output remains 5.7% below the level in February prior to the direct impacts of COVID-19.
